October 4th (raindate) field trip was a great success.  Mike DeStefano shared his knowledge and skills with the 7 club members who came on this trip.   We enjoyed late day sun (after a worrisome rainy morning) where we captured nice light on the building.

We left quickly, led by Mike, for the Newport Bridge for a sunset shoot. While we missed the actual sun setting, we did manage to see and shoot a beautiful, colored sky with the lit bridge in the background.

We enjoyed a perfect ending at The Red Parrot in downtown Newport.

Take a trip to Castle Hill….directions below.

DIRECTIONS TO CASTLE HILL LIGHT:

Directions:

  • Take the Newport Bridge (Route 138) over Narragansett Bay into Newport.

  • Stay on America’s Cup Ave, which then becomes Thames St.

  • Follow Harrison Ave for 1.8 miles and take a right onto Castle Hill Ave.

FEBRUARY

Winter field trip to Beavertail (if scaffolding has been removed).  This is a wonderful time to photograph snowy rocks and the cool, crisp air provides a clarity that is hard to capture during the humid summer months.  Details to follow.

MARCH -

Looking for suggestions.

APRIL

Warren, RI to visit Angelo Marinosci’s studio, refreshments, and a shoot of the village with Angelo.   Warren is a lovely spot along the ocean.
